Winch mount W/factory bumper
Yeah I know the concerns about the sway bar motor and we discussed that as well. We're going to look at this from all angles before actually doing the work. I'm all for mounting it on top of the bumper if it comes down to it. I want to atleast try it the other way first.
So here I am sitting at the fabrication shop having my warn 8000s winch installed behind the bumper of my 2012 rubicon! I know some have said that it coldnt he done but, I gotta tell ya, it's coming along great! I only have my iPhone to take pictures but rest assure, I will get them up this afternoon when it's all done. I'm not doing the work myself so I can't explain to you what's going on, but I will try and tell you as much as i can remember from what the fab guy tell me.
From I can see, he's made a winch plate, with bolt acess, he said something about moving a small compressor(I think) a little to the side. He is test fitting the winch at the moment to make sure everything fits and is sitting correctly before cutting out the hole for the fair lead. And by the way, the winch will
Be sitting right side up, below and behind the bumper! Can't wait to get you guys some pictures up tonite! That's it for now. I will keep you all posted on new developements!

Thanks! Not much more to go now. Just need to cut the hole for the fairlead and plastic bumper cover. Make sure everything matches up, get it wired and spooled and put the plastic pieces back on!
Here are a few shots of projects he's got going!Attachment 319370Attachment 319371Attachment 319372
The tires are 44"...whoa! They are for the purple jeep.
The purple jeep is having extensive work done as you can see. The silver 2010 JK is a 2WD that is being converted to a 4WD. Also, the fenders on the silver jeep was fabed by him, as well as the bumper and stinger.
The other jeep is rhino coated with a custom bumper by him also!

One more shot from the top. As you can see, the disco motor is well out of the way. It only looks close because of the angle. I got a good look at it all around and there's a good 1" to 2' clearance in all directions. From what I gather, it looks like he welded the plate lower, so that its sitting on the crossbar (see previous picture). We also fitted the winch on the plate with the plastic cover on top to get an idea about the fit, to make sure it wouldn't stick up above the bumper and it was a perfect fit with room to spare!

Finally Done!
O.k. Everyone! Here is my 2012 Rubicon with factory bumper and a Warn 8000s winch, that's mounted behind the bumper and RIGHT SIDE UP! So as you can see, it can be done. The fab guy had no write up or schematics to follow, so we brainstormed and did a lot of test fitting. It fits perfect with very little room to spare. The control box will be mounted behind the bumper as well, on the passenger side. Just need to get longer cables. But the job is finished and i'm loving the look!
Thanks to everyone who posted up and big thumbs up to the O.P. for starting this thread!
Next mod, mounting an on board compressor under the hood or behind the bumper on the driver's side
Oops! Forgot to post the picture...duh! I'll get that up tonite when I get off..
