Default Manual or Automatic?

I will be ordering my first JK next month. I want to build a JK that will not see to much road time but more trail time. I know older jeeps you wanted to go with a Manual but I see more and more Automatics. Can someone please give me the pro's & con's on a new JK? Thank you....

There are seriously endless flame wars about this topic on this and every Jeep forum you can find on the internet. Start there.

The summary: many people have VERY strong feelings about one or the other. Both have pros and cons. Drive them both and pick the one you want.

Seeing more autos shouldnt make you get an auto. You need to understand that the wrangler jk aimed at a much larger or should i say diverse(?) market than its predecessors.

I also see a lot of pics of automatics used for climbing especially going up hills. An automatic is easier from what I read about climbing because you won't lose your footing from switching gears. I went with a manual because I live in the city and during some winters, we get bombarded with snow. The manual for me makes it easier to get in and out of a situation despite the fun factor of driving stick.
