That way it will be a 2 step process for it to work, maybe hide the switch.
That's a good idea actually. So essentially to start it you need to have the ebrake engaged and also have your toggle switch to "on" for example?

exactly, pull up your e brake and then turn on your switch.
I figure a relay wired to put out a ground instead of being hot and then use that switch to interrupt it.
I'm still trying to figure a way to incorporate a neutral safety switch...right now I leave the t-case in neutral.

Its been awhile since I've popped off the boot to see what the plate looks like but here is a clever solution. It is not the most elegant but it does seem to be practical.

Thanks for the link, I heard it about that once before but wasn't quite sure the way of going about it. Maybe when the weather warms up

Has anyone tried hooking up an external antenna to get more range out of this unit?

EDIT: Actually just realized, this uses the factory remote and the remote still connects to the Jeep ... meaning there is no additional remote and this unit does not have an antenna in it ... that right?

Correct. The t5 harness and the evo I believe, are used with aftermarket alarms. It just so happens it can be used as a remote start on Chrysler / Jeep vehicles. If you what the video the installer states that the added an extended range remote setup. But you would end up with 2 remotes.
