Pure Jeep Rocker install help
Haha thanks. I think my favorite comment is the one about the sheet metal. Yeah, it is total junk.
I guess the moral of the story is that if you get these rockers, be prepared to spend a decent amount of time putting them on, lining things up, etc. It was a lot of work, and I still have silicone to clean up. But, these are by far the best rocker sliders out there, IMO. They are super solid and they look great. They changed the whole look of my rig, not to mention the fact that they will take just about any rock I can throw at them without me having to worry about body damage.
These rockers are a 10 out of 10
...but...
the install sucks.

Just put these on my 4 Door and they are not "Easy" to put on. However they are not "Hard". I had mine sent to me and they didnt send the drill guide at all. So I had to guess at the angle and got it real close. So the first side was hard to get the nuts on the under side. I did make the holes on the steps larger so I could have room to move them around. (Made it much easier). I broke 2 very good drill bits and that caused me a little problem because I didnt notice it broke the tip off and tried to use it for other holes (Bad idea).
If the bolt/nuts would have been packaged and labled it would have taken less time. I spent about an hour going through everything and makeing sure everything was there. Also figuring out where things went. I had to go to the hardware store a few times for nuts and bolts because my kit was missing a few, nothing I couldn't find cheep. Total it took maybe 6.5 hours, but I did it over 2 days. Passager side first then next day drivers side.
These are very nice, solid and shipped very well. I have pics of the shipping box and packing. They used spray foam around everything and sucked to unpack, but worked well.
I would do this again, glad they are done but would do again without a hesitation.
My only concern would be rust, but I used a shit load of silicone on the inserts and around the holes I drilled.
If anyone needs help hit me up.

congrats, your the first person to agree the install wasnt that bad
I had these rockers on for a year, and totalled my JK. When I pulled them off. there was no rust to be found. Which says alot being through one Ohio winter.
They rockers are now on our new JK. I was debating on putting spray foam insulation in the body gaps to help prevent, water from getting in. Just a thought.
