I had the same issue and finally talked to tech support. You have to go into the Advanced Tune from the main menu. Select the options and then set the tire size. Do a Save and Exit back to the Advanced Tune ? Octane and then set the tune. This way you set the programmer tire size and then do the tune to write it to the Jeep.

I was going into advanced features from the initial menu instead of options from advanced tune menu. This allows you to change it, but doesn't ever save it to the Jeep.

I still can't get my TPMS to reset. I have a call into them and they know there is an issue and they are working on it. I would bet the new programming for the '10 model messed up the functionality of the earlier JK years.

Default pinging issue

I was getting some pinging (or at least what I think is pinging) on the 87 tune with 87 gas. On this last tank, I filled up with 93 and went to the 93 tune, but I'm still getting the same noise... Maybe I should drop to the 91 tune and see what happens???

Any input would be most welcome!

So I installed my superchip at what I thought was the 87 octane, then set my tire size (stock) and gears (3.73) and drove 3 hrs on the interstate. After connecting my SC to my laptop and reviewing my settings, it turns out that I actually loaded and have been running the 93 tune while using 87 fuel.

Any issues with this? It performed great and loved the extra energy, especially off the line and climbing hills on the hwy. Can you run the 91 or 93 tune with 87 fuel, or did I just screw something uP??

I corrected it tonight and set the tune to 87 octane, so we'll see if it feels any different on tomorrow.

You will be up against the knock sensors and it will retard the timing. Also, you run the risk of pre-detonation.

With as much as SC pushes things to get you the best performance, this is not at all advisable. If it were closer in octane, and it was running fine, say the 91 tune with 89 Octane I wouldn't be as concerned. However running the 93 tune on 87 is just asking for trouble.

Is there a real manual for these things. I keep reading proceedures that you guys do to make it work correctly that I can not find in the little booklet that came with it.

Yes, there is a real manual. It is somewhat rudimentary as the process is pretty straight forward. Don't confuse talk of the PCM and it's responses to how the product functions, as often it is simply a discussion amongst the wonks. Tire size might be an issue but as prescribed in the manual it's pretty close. If you measure your spare or use your tire size as printed on the sidewall it won't.
