You mean except those that are complaining about pinging and detonation when running a cold air intake and the superchip flashpaq together?

I'll have to give you that one.

I know this is a SuperChips thread, but I kept thinking more towards the CAI by itself.

In some instances where higher than average elevation is present the addition of increased octane is necessary to help combat detonation due to the nature of how the vehicle manages that environment.

This is even more relevant when the vehicle is equipped with a CAI which in some cases can compound the issue.

That being said, I am more than happy to provide assistance if you have concerns with the programming itself. I can put you in contact with a tech and your files can be double checked to make sure they are in working order if that is a concern.

Feel free to PM me and we can go over the details.

Scott

Default Superchips review.

I just installed my Superchips last night & cannot believe the difference!

I installed the 91 tune & it does feel a bit peppier, but the real difference is with the transmission. What a difference!

It used to be a struggle maintaining 70 mph on the expressway, but no more!

The "towing an invisible parachute" feeling is completely gone. The Jeep holds its top gear much longer, no longer constantly dropping back into 3rd.

For me, just this improvement is worth the price of the Superchip alone. When you factor in all of the other features this thing includes, it seems like a bargain.

Its been said before but I will say it again.

SUPERCHIPS IS THE BEST MODIFICATION YOU CAN DO TO A STOCK JK!

Worth every penny.

Thanks Scott. elevation should not be an issue for me as i am in Phoenix.

I'm totally happy with the performance of the Flashpaq. GREAT Product.

I was just wondering if others where having the same issues. if it comes right down to it the CAI will be packing.

I started a thread on the main board today on this topic to see what others are saying. You may want to chime in there with any input and/or advice. Thanks Mike

Got the superchips fp last week, easy update and install. Running the Economy Mileage XS Save, still running on the first tank, but mileage appears to be better. Normally get about 240-50 miles before the lights goes on. We'll see how the next tank goes. Also, it might just be some sort of placebo affect, but the JK seems to respond better even on this economy tune. I want to run a couple tanks first before switching to the 87 Octane. That's what I'm really interested in seeing. I'll report back in a few.

Well the last few days, I have noticed my JK is pinging in 1st to 3rd gear in town with the 87 Octane tune. Any ideas why it would all of a sudden it would start pinging after I have had it since Feb. this year??? Also, have a Airraid CAI during the same period
