Dave, thanks for the info. Sure figured that if the Microtuner in 2000 for a friggin ford had this capability, that the FlashPaq would. Oh well.
If Dave and others are selling these New Superchips, why is it that everyone is NOT getting the current version?
I want to get one, but I just don't want to have to keep updating. Now I understand that the Superchip may only be updated on Windows and NOT Macintosh.
If I order one, can I special order one that is UPDATED?
ALSO how many updates have they had as I read it looks like a lot......
very concerned...
I know what you're saying but every computer/electronic appliance including your computer requires periodic updates to stay up with software updates. Just a new-millenium fact.
By the time something goes to manufacturing the software has been updated. Consequently an update is advised before using. It is part of the registration/activation process.

Is this a product with a PROVEN track record or just a lot of headaches.
It's a brand new product for the JK that, as we end users find, needs to be updated to accomodate new changes with the vehicle. It is a proven product if you ask the very many of us who are using it.

You don't have to update, they just suggest that you do. I have computer problems so wasn't able to download the update to my puter. So I tried the programmer without it anyway. It worked fine right out of the box with no problems. However there still may be a couple tunes that I am missing. I am going to try and "re"tune again soon, so I'll see what that does.
I have the same frame of mind. I work on BMW's that always need "updates" all the time. The "updates" just fix problems, so if there are tons of updates for something, it'd be best for others to have it ironed out first...I rather buy something ready to roll.
Somethings can have a taste of selling something without R&D. I've seen online where it says "4-hi locker" and "TMPS adjustment", and said "thats what i'll get when its time for a tuner". Then I hop on here and none of it is functional..."yet". Sounds like a "oops" and hiccup to a lot of people who having the lockers and such were a big selling point.
I'm sure they'll get things worked out. I ran a superchips tuner for my Ranger. But the Ranger platform has been around forever. I'd hope in the couple years the JK has been out, there would be more tuners with the fancy options. But i'll be patient and wait

After months of research, I have decided to regear from the 4:10 to 5:13. I am just NOT sold on all
the inconsistency's listed on the forum. When I contacted 3 local 4x4 shops NONE are sold on ANY of the programmers and apparently there is one unit that will adjust the speedo and allow for changing of the transmission RPM ranges. This is from a very reputable shop.
I don't mind paying a little more for PROVEN QUAILITY as I only want to buy my upgrades ONCE.
Being relatively NEW to Jeeping, I was talked into cold intakes & exhausts that really DID nothing or I just can't feel the differences. I like this JK-Forum because you really get a full mix of responses and that is how we all LEARN. Patience is the VIRTUE and I am willing to wait too!
Have a Great Holiday Weekend!
