i will try to open it up this morning and test it some more. i was shifting anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 when testing it yesterday, but i'll pay more attention to today and see if i notice where the knock, if any, happens.

as always - appreciate the help jpop.
LOL, nope just a happy customer with a couple of their products. I haven't even been able to get a sticker from them for my toolbox, which is where all of the performance stickers I have collected over the last 30 years reside.

My guess is that if you're below 2500 rpm on shifts, especially on the 1-2 shift, there is just too much advance in there. Obviously that will cause some issues through the learn process, but after a tankful of gas the PCM will pretty much have down the way you drive. Also, not that I think you should change the way you drive, but for whatever reason on a new tune those freeway onramp blasts seem to help out quite a bit.

Took it out this morning. The knocking seems to be gone - didn't notice it anymore. The onramp blasts have helped, and even if they didn't they were fun anyway. If someone had been watching my driving route they would have thought I had gone crazy. There is definite performance improvement from the 87 tune. It's hard to describe, but it's just better.

What I'm really interested in is the mpgs. The computer is showing a significant improvement considering I've been driving it harder than usual the last couple days.

We'll see how it goes once I clock some more miles, but as of now I'm giving the flashpaq three thumbs up.

little known fact-
superchips will give you a discount if you mail them your programmer (hypertech and others, i'm assuming) and put it towards a superchip flashpaq discount...

Was wondering what you guys are seeing using the "tow" tune? I've read that a few of you really like it. I tried it the other day and the JK "seems" to have better throttle response in this mode, but, I was thinking in doing so that my RPMS would change, and they haven't at all. Jpop, I remember you saying your idle wend down.......mine didn't. And at 60mph it's still running about 1,700 (auto/4:10s). What exactly is going on here? Is it just me "imagining" it's more responsive?

The rpm's shouldn't differ, that is a function of gear ratios which can't be changed electronically. The SC can modify a lot of things (spark advance, shift points, etc.) but not the physics of gears, differentials, and tire sizes.

My idle did drop from 800 to 600 rpm with the tow tune. When rolling it did nothing to change the rpm operating range which is constrained by the tires, transmission and differential. I definitely like it for motoring around town and likely won't use anything else until I'm putting some real highway miles on.
