Default Tuner locking up

Scott,

I've got an issue with my tuner. It seems to be running really slow then resets constantly. I will choose something on the menu and it takes a really long time to move to the next screen then it seems to freeze. After a couple minutes it will go back to the main menu. This started happening when I was driving down the road while looking at the throttle position on the real time diagnostics. Now I can't get it to change tunes or go back to stock or anything. I have not tried to update it yet. Do you think that this will solve the issue or is there a hardware issue of some sort? My biggest issue at this point is that the Jeep was totaled last week and I need to set it back to stock so that I can use the tuner on the replacement.

Installed mine last weekend, tuned to Mileage tune, and only got 275 miles on the tank where I was typicially getting 300? Will reinstall the tune this weekend and give it another tank, based on what I've read in this and other threads.

I do feel a much smoother transition between gears, it seems to idle at a lower rpm, and doesn't want to go when I hit the interstate.

Was planning to run a few tanks on Mileage tune, and then try one of the performance tunes.

I know that my gas mileage dropped a bit when I installed my tune but that was because I was having to much fun with the skinny pedal--not a fault of the tune.

On a different subject...I will be selling my tuner as I have to sell my Jeep. So if you want one check the for sale section.

As soon as you uninstall you are starting from scratch. The PCM relearn can take as many as 40 on/off key cycles with some mileage in between.

Additionally, I don't know of many that have been all that enthralled by the Mileage XS setting and the majority of us aren't using it. Most prefer the straight up 87 tune or higher. Also with higher octane settings I have seen my best fuel mileage, although I run the 87 tune all winter long as I'm going to burn more fuel just getting to operating temperatures.

OK, thanks. I'll let it be for a couple more tanks and see if it crawls up, then probably move to the straight 87 tune.

So you use 87 tune winter and 91 tune summer.? Can you elaborate on this so I can learn why?
