I have a 2008 manual. The programmer has been AWESOME! It slightly improved my performance but it HUGELY improved my mpg.

I run 38's and get 14 mpg around town and over 15 on the highway.

Just a heads up, I picked up a AFE drop in filter and in conjunction with the superchips then engine feels even more lively. Not a bad deal for 60 bucks.

I went through the stages, starting with the 87 tune. One feature I really liked a lot was the throttle response option... removes about 80% of that lag you feel when you stab the skinny pedal. I didn't notice much gain in power or mpg with the 87, or even the 91 option. Also, keep in mind that I have not installed my 4.88 gears yet (running 35" Cooper Discoverer STTs) with a manual. Now, the 93 tune has been the reason I have not been in a rush to install my gears. I have made several trips from D.C. to Chicago, over the appalachian and smoky mountains, and averaged as high as 21.7 mpg!!! I have yet to get under 16 mpg running this tune, and the speedo is dialed in perfectly. I don't particularly enjoy filling up at $4.30 a gallon in the city, but it still is worth it. When I get the gears it may come back down. Tow mode hasn't been used all that much, but I really lost power going with the gas mileage saver mode! It wouldn't pull up the slightest hill without low gears and lots of pedal. That's about all I can speak authoritatively on this device, but I would recommend it to anyone- auto OR manual.
* only programmer I have bought since a Jetchip on my 93 YJ fried my ECM back in '98...

well, the wife just gave me permission to order one. ive read a lot of mixed reviews earlier on in this thread but later in the thread it seems the reviews get more consistantly positive. i just want something thats gonna help the problem with not being able to hold overdrive at 65mph with a headwind and and the a/c on with my 35s. i plan on regearing to 5.38s but im praying to god this does the trick temporarily. maybe even with this little boost in power and gearing down the road i wont have an itch for a blower.

It will help. I would definitely recommend the advanced transmission tuning option
