Just installed 93 tune in my 2010 JK Rubicon Unlimited. I'm as skeptical as they come, but have to admit there was an immediate and positive difference. More responsive acceleration throughout speedometer range that was especially noticeable under 30 mph. Jury is still out on any mpg loss/gain. Should have done this much earlier!

I have an 08' stock eng, tran and gears. After installing a 3" lift and 33"s I add a flashpaq an of course noticed a great improvement. My question is: If I were to change the tire setting from 33" to 35" tire while still riding the 33" would I do any damage? What do you think the result would be?

I just tried it but it didn't work; must be expired!

your speedo and associated shift points would be off a touch. More annoying and mpg wasting than anything else.

So I'm finally looking at picking one of these baby's up but I'm solely concerned with mileage improvement. I'm wondering what everyone seems to be averaging as improved mpg?!

I have an 07 jku auto with 4.10s and 33's and am averaging 13.5 around town...as a college student Its hard to throw $50 away every 3-4 days...

Truly trying to save some greenbacks!

Thanks,
Adam

Do you spend a lot of time just idling in traffic? If so, the superchip is not going to help your mileage at all. 13.5 is really pretty bad for your setup. The biggest thing that would help you is most likely driving style. Pretend there is an egg under the accelerator, and if you push it more than half way down, it will get smashed. This will have the single largest affect on your fuel economy.

Also, have you calibrated your speedometer for the larger tires? If not, your showing fewer miles than you are actually going. Which makes your economy look worse than it is.

Definitely poor for my set up I know..sucks lol. Rarely idling traffic and I'm made fun of by my girlfriend for driving like an old man so I'm starting to think maybe something els might be wrong. Can a dealership adjust my speedometer or is something like this superchip necessary to adjust it?

Thanks

The dealership will only adjust to factory size tires.

You need something like a ProCal, or a SuperChips, etc to adjust for any tire or gear size. Personally I just used a ProCal to adjust for my tires (Same tires you have) and gears (4.56's, had 3.21's from the factory). My current average is 16.7, but lately it has been in the 15's. Mostly because its winter so I end up using 4wd for snow and such.

After having one for almost 28k miles with the tuner and about 30k without and tracking every fillup since I bought it new and calculating MPG I can honestly say that I've seen NO improvement in average MPG - I've tried the MPG tune, the 87 performance, and the tow tune with no change and I ran each one for well over 5k miles to get a good average on that tune (a minimum of 15 tanks at approx 300 mi/tank) - the only thing I haven't tried is the high octane tunes, but with the price of fuel I'd not expect any payback there - although I could be wrong there if someone knows otherwise and has enough data to convince me I might try it out. The only reason I'm keeping it is I've got 35's that I'm going to put on soon as the stock tires wear out and want to adjust the speedo...

One of these days I might put it all in excel and chart it out if I get super bored...
