Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
with 98 you'll probably be airborn most of the time.
kidding. i really don't know. i probably still need to give the other tunes some more time, but i'm not noticing any real difference between the 87 and 91 tunes. i haven't seen dyno results so can't say for certain what the performance gains are, but i think most people have been pleased with how the tuner feels to them.
I should have responded to the thermostat thing before but I guess I missed it.
Fan on settings need to be at least 20 degrees warmer than the installed thermostat. The stock thermostat is a 195, so you shouldn't be setting the fan on temperature lower than 215.
I did the exact same thing as I had the stock 195 in and set it for the 180 I had waiting to install. Dropped the fan on setting to 200 and was getting a CEL and a DTC of "Open Fan Relay". Swapped in the 180 and haven't had the issue since.
I hope that helps.

Actually a guy in Austrailia (where they use the same RON measurement you use) complained that running the 93 octane tune on 98 RON fuel resulted in a lot of pinging which leads me to believe that 98 RON is slightly lower octane than 93 (R+M)/2 US fuel.
One thing though is there aren't a ton of thermostats on the market and lots of applications for every SKU. You should be able to go to the local NAPA or other auto parts store and grab one.
If you get someone that only can look up in the computer ask for the STANT catalog and find the stock part number they came up with and then find it in the book and it should group the same "model" thermostat by temp range
Oh - and don't cheap out on the $4 thermostat - buy the $11 "Super Stat" thermostat - they tend to fail open better than the cheapo's do...
Any *good* parts counter man should be able to find it simply enough - The boxes should have a part number on it and then a model number which have the temp range as part of the number and then the guy at the parts counter just needs to grab the 180 version - it will be something like 567-195 for a 195 degree one and the one you want is like a 567-180 (the first three numbers are made up - this is NOT the actual parts number)
Just the same, I check them on the stove with a thermometer and a pot of water to make sure there OK while the wife is away. I'll never understand why that is such a big deal, but as long as she wants to take charge of what goes on in that room I'll continue to sneak around.
Wow, we're on page 38 already! I got mine installed last week Wednesday and have talking with Superchips over the last week or so. They still have no answer as to why mine is missing all the trans settings, and many more. Each time I call they say they'll call back right away. They haven't called back yet. I call every 2 days with the same response. Debating taking it back and figuring something else out as the customer service has been horrible...
