Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
Wow, we're on page 38 already! I got mine installed last week Wednesday and have talking with Superchips over the last week or so. They still have no answer as to why mine is missing all the trans settings, and many more. Each time I call they say they'll call back right away. They haven't called back yet. I call every 2 days with the same response. Debating taking it back and figuring something else out as the customer service has been horrible...
The only solution (so far) was for me to return it (and go by the Hypertech which I'd rather not do). Seems like there has to be a fix, but I'm not sure anyone in their engineering department is working on it. He said he passed the info off to them over a week ago and he hadn't heard anything back.

There is no user adjustable shift point nor shift firmness to date. That isn't to say they aren't adjusted in the tunes, just that they aren't user selectable. Also, there are plenty of other Chrysler/Superchips owners waiting for this feature. It's pretty well documented that this is a pending feature.
The 4 Hi locking axle control is a Rubicon only feature.
Some specifics would be helpful so some of the other members here may be able to lend a hand. Scott@superchips here has always been responsive and when I call I deal with Ron Rapp who is nothing short of awesome.
So I think it's important to separate the issues you are having from what SC has already stated is a currently undelivered feature.
Just curious as to what transmission settings you're missing.

Ok, very interesting. The entire reason I went with the Flashpaq was based on the recommendations that the Superchips allowed you to change shift points and shift firmness. When I called Hypertech (after installing it) I found out it did NOT have the trans settings. I called Superchips and they told me the Flashpaq for the Jeep indeed DID have those settings. I bought it.
When I called in to say, "For some reason mine is missing settings...." we discussed those that were missing. He agreed that those should be in my flashpaq and wasn't sure why they weren't. 10 days later (now) they're still not sure why mine doesn't have have the settings when others do. I've spoken with them now 6 times on the phone and twice they've gone to Engineering with the question. Engineering told him they're not sure why some are working and some are not other than the "different computer issue per vehicle that Jeep/Dodge/etc have". Now, could the gentleman that's handling my ticket# and Engineering not know that these are not available? I suppose that's possible, but just doesn't seem logical that they have no idea what's going on.
What's "missing" from mine is in red below:
Per my Superchips Instruction Manual:
Automatic Trasmission Shift Points:
See page 11 of the Getting Started Guide for feature description.
Automatic Trasmission Shift Pressure:
See page 11 of the Getting Started Guide for feature description.
Per the Getting Started Guide:
Adjust transmission points for optimized drivability and operation. Varies by vehicle.
Adjust transmission pressure in PSI to allow for a more aggressive shift. Varies by vehicle.
Rev Limiter
87 Octane Performance
Crawling Tune
Rev Limiter
Towing
I bought this for 3 reason, 2 of which aren't on my Flashpaq:
1. Changed tire height
2. Shift firmness & shift points
3. 87 Octane Performance

Here is the PM I received from Scott@superchips.......
Sorry for the inconvenience with your update issues.
Was there a way to continue past the digital signature posting?
Your tuner was shipped with all of the current fils we have on tap at the time of manufacture so at one point either at the beginning or most recently it looks as if we acquired your vehicles stock calibration that allowed the product to tune your vehicle.
The 91 octane files are where you will see the full HP and TQ potential of the vehicle.
We require that octane to suppress detonation with the improved timing tables that were written that help make that extra power for you.
There is no necessary adjustment needed to use the product with most of the populat CAI kits on the market.
Currently we do not have options to adjust trans settings like shift points or firmness.
If you would like to find out what was going on with your update so that you are good to go for the next time you want to update the programmer give my customer service a call at 888-227-2447 and explain your situation.
If they do not scurrently have the answer they can get with our engineering staff and work with them to trouble shoot all of the options with you over the phone.
If you have any further questions feel free to let me know.

I need to poke around here when I get a chance as I've read how much better it's supposed to shift with the Flashpaq. Maybe their just talking about with one of the basic tunes that get installed. I'm running the "gas mileage" setting now and getting my worst tank yet. I think I'll reset the indicator though to make sure it isn't just a fluke (A/C is on non-stop right now but I believe it was the previous tank as well).
On mine, when you select quick tune, I get several options. They include 93 Octane, 91 Octane, and 87 Octane.
I don't think the word "Performance" is there, but it is definitely WAY better than stock.
It was kind of confusing to me at first, but just in case this is it:
You have to sign up for an account on their website to download the updating software. Once you download the updating software, you need to create ANOTHER account. The one you created on the website won't work; you need to create it in the updating program.
Hopefully that makes sense and it works to solve the problem you have been having.
Hope this helps...

ok, what is the lowest price you have gotten your superchips for, and where did you get it.
