Yes, you should go back to stock before going to the dealer. If they get a routine update and put it in, you will have to contact Superchips to get your reader back where it should be. Plus you may not even know they did it, until you try to make a change later.

I feel your pain... I have been trying to upload the TPMS program for 2 days. Everytime it says everything is uploaded and then when I go to use it I get a message saying this is only available on certain CAN equipt vehicles!

Superchips needs to get there bugs worked out before releasing this crap!

Default Off Road Crawl

Well last weekend I got to try the crawl setting for some off road mountain hill runs. While everyone else was airing down up near Pine Cove in So Cal, I changed from my 87 tune to the crawl. We then proceeded to climb up and down some (to me, still a newbie) pretty steep dirt/rock trails for the next few hours. Wow, I can't really give an accurate comparison, since this was only about my 6th time offroad, and only about the 3rd serious one. Also, I had never done this run before. BUT I was very pleased at the handling. And this was steeper than anything I had done previously, with no slippage whatsoever. I took many of the climbs very slowly...lo4 and 1st gear. The Jeep just kept going up and up and up. Fortunately my jeep knows more about 4 wheeling than I do. But I would definitely recommend the tune. Try it and see for yourself. BTW I didn't even bother to air down and I had no trouble doing anything anyone else was doing (ok, save for one suicide ride that I and a cherokee guy decided was way beyond our experience levels...it looked straight up!)

BACK ON THE FREEWAY....different story. Our run ended up down on back dirt roads south of Banning and then we were suddenly back on pavement and parting ways for the day. I didn't bother with the retune at first, to see how it handled on the freeway. Well, you can go freeway speeds but, as expected, gas mileage dropped like a brick, and it always felt like the engine was racing in a lower gear. I drove probably 10 miles that way before stopping and retuning. Wow, that 87 tune felt good again!

Since those 2 retunes and a new tank of gas, my mileage, even with a/c on, has jumped to 18+, mostly freeway driving. Can't wait for a chance to try the 91 tune now.

Mileage update: 16.49mpg using my fancy iPhone app (basically a little receipt/odometer math). This is running the 87 tune. Still happy.
