Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
Ok so I have had a SC-FP for a couple months now. At first my milage went up quite a bit. Of coarse the power was there as well. In the last couple weeks (3 or so) my milage has been way down in the low 14's? I could not figure it out, because without the SC-FP I get 16ish.
I finally realized that it was the AC. I know duh, whatever. But more intersting is the fact that the AC milage I get is worse with the FP then without. That I would not expect.
milage w/out AC and w/out SC-FP approx. 16.0mpg
milage w/AC and w/out SC-FP 16.5mpg
milage w/AC and w/SC-FP approx 14.5mpg
milage w/out AC and w/SC-FP 18.00mpg driving moderate to easy throttle
this is just my experiance there could be other factors I am unaware of I am at 32k miles and going to be changing the plugs and do an oil change might help a bit.

are people going back to stock when taking to the dealer for oil changes? i thought i read on here that someone was and i am just curious as to why? just trying to understand - does it matter that the jeep be at stock settings for just an oil change?

they won't notice for just an oil change, but better safe than sorry
but what would happen? if noticed, would the dealer make a note and then sometime down the road if i had a warranty issue would the dealer try to state that something couldn't be covered under warranty because i had used a tuner at some point? just trying to understand.
More than likely any kind of computer warranty work that would need to be done would be voided. If they are nasty about it, yes they would mark it on your record and it would always be known.
how about this...
i purchased before the lifetime warranty came up. i have 3 years, 36,000 miles. my sahara came with 18's and roughly a 32" wheel. let's say i jumped to 37" on day one and never corrected my speedo & odometer. i understand that the tuner does more than that correction, but that it one of the reasons i bought it.
how does the dealer know what my actual miles are without any kind of correction? clearly they can tell it doesn't have stock tires and without detecting any kind of speedo/odometer correction, wouldn't they have a basis to reject warranty since they do not know how many miles are on the vehicle?

I definitely go back to stock for oil changes at the dealer. Wouldn't even go there for oil changes if they weren't rotating the tires as well for $30. I just don't want them bricking the thing trying to do a PCM update. On my Dodge Ram I had an experience where I returned to stock, dropped the truck off for service, drove home went to install the tune and it wouldn't take. Apparently they had also done a PCM flash while it was there and I needed to wait a couple days for SC to catch up.
The other big advantage is it's a lot easier to notice the power increase when you need to do without it for a bit.

Ok just got back from a nice little cruise with the SC-FP set at 87 Octane. I have a 2Dr auto and I am a believer!
I could definately tell on the get up from a complete stop. Shifting seems so much better and smoother no more overdrive @ 35!! Just seems more livable and peppy. Gas peddle is very responsive now. Actually a fun drive now not so mushy! Best money spent so far
, except for my actual down payment on the Jeep
. Anyways still curious about the TPMS could'nt get that to show up after downloading the update for it. And also can I adjust the shift points? Thought I read that somewhere. Sorry for all the questions but can I just redownload the update and reinstall the 87 Octane again or do I have to return to stock first? Last one, what are some other features to boost performance and gains beside the quick tune? Thanks.
