I sent superchips a message last week...all they would tell me is that 2010's aren't supported and there is no date for release yet

My question is why? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you'll get better performance running the correct tune for the octane gas you are using.

If its not pinging, it won't hurt anything. If it starts pinging its bad.

To see what would happen.....nobody seems to have tried it so why not?

An easy +1.0-1.5 which I don't believe for a minute.

During the work week I run around the north Georgia mountains in Blairsville, Young Harris and Hiawassee and normally I get a consistent 18.8-18.9 on the idiot meter and all of a sudden this week it 20+ depending how I beat on it.

Also running through downtown ATL at 6am Monday morning it claimed an effortless 24.0-24.5 running 70-75 which is a bit rich.

I'll believe that increase when I do the calculating myself....

I installed the Tow tune on the way home to try it and its a joke with little power increase.

There is a grade I pull all the time running 64 mph in 5th between Young Harris and Hiawassee, GA and it did pull it a little better than stock but nothing like the 93 Tune.

Also, the Tow tune was causing some type of mild shuddering when you would load the motor at low RPM. Say you were running 55 mph in 6th and floored it the shuddering could be felt in the gas pedal, the steering wheel and be seen in the shifter.

No loss because the power increased sucked so I'm going to put the 93 Tune back in this morning.

I make my weekly pilgrimage home on Thursday afternoons so I'll run 93 octane on the way home make some notes then I'll run 89 on the way back Monday morning and see if I notice any difference.

The higher the octane, the more you can advance when the spark plug fires (timing) as the piston compresses the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder/head without incurring engine ping. Ideally combustion spreads evenly across the combustion chamber. Advancing timing without pinging improves combustion and hence power. When the engine pings, combustion randomly occurs in different spots in the chamber and upper cylinder which causes the piston head to rattle.

There are several things that increase/decrease ping (engine temp, compression ratio, timing, fuel octane, fuel lead), increasing octane is the easiest to change.
