This part of the fender is removed.

So is the idea to keep the stock airbox? I really like using the K&N filter. Atleast use the same size airbox so we wouldn't have to buy a wierd sized filter.

Love the low profile design! Looks trick.

Holding out on the AEV to see where this one ends up.

We are reviewing this part of the design. Easy replacement of the filter is something we think is important...

When I bought my Jeep it had a "home-made" CAI on it. I don't even have the stock airbox. Getting a design that replaces everything would be good for me.

I'm still giving the same time line but would say that an early summer is looking more likely (Sorry)... but to help you along and to let you know there is movement here is another picture. This is the base for the low intake and the taller mount intake. This shape is not set in stone and is being revised but does help to visualize a little more.... Hope you like!

What happened to the original design?

Understand that this was an initial rough design, but you departed quite a bit.

Seems that the new pics/design doesn't have a scoop or as large an intake area.

I'm not as impressed with this new direction.

As far as time-line, take the time you need to get it right. Just don't let the engineers design away the good looks that was initially envisioned.

You have an opportunity here to create a functional and attractive CAI/Snorkel that will be eagerly accepted by the JK community. Keep the price reasonable (less than competition) and design functional and pleasing to the eye.

I'm new to the Jk, but have a real good idea of the mods I want to introduce - this is one that I'm eagerly awaiting.

The picture only shows the lower base.... We have not started to add styling and the picture does not show either of the attached intakes. Designs do change as production feasibility comes into play as well as cost point needed for the market.

Thanks for the quick reply. Once again, understand you are still in initial design and not fabrication. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. I believe you have the opportunity to turn out a great product here. I know that your involvement with this forum and listening to the consumer will only aid you in this goal.

Got to admit, I'm not a huge fan of snorkels but I really like the direction you're going with this. Anxiously waiting to see how this turns out. You may may very well get some more of my cash when the funds open up

to RRC on building us something that doesn't have us cutting fenders or hoods

Ram air...none @ 6 mph when your using a jeep.

Leakage, teenagers depend on rubber not to leak everyday, things break and leak and kids happen. However when used properly rubber works. Looks like RRC has a rubber on the top in the pic. besides minimal water intake will add about as much power as the ram air effect.

I will be buying one to get my intake up out of the current area.

It just looks like the opening for our intake got alot smaller in the piece on the RR jeep vs the pre production sketch.
