The image is just the base. The two intakes will mount to this base. We are working to allow the low mount to work with our W/S light mounting tabs (seen in image). Our taller intake will be located a little differently than what is offered on the market now. This will allow it to work with our W/S light bar but not the tabs. There are compromises that have to be made...

I am glad your thinking about options like that. I love the light bar as well. And having the option between the 2 different hights is great :-)

I can't wait to see this finished this seems to be what I want in a snorkle design.

The only worry I have is possible leaking at the base.. I guess this would depend on how the snorkel mounts to the base.

I'm look at this thread everyday hoping to see the final product.. How much longer now? Haha it's like a kid in the back seat "are we there yet? are we there yet?" haha

So would we have to buy the base and then buy which ever intake option we want? Or would we buy the base and get the lower intake or the snorkel for an added price?

Part of me thinks the taller snorkel would pull more air in via ram air effect! Any one care to add to this?

Answered my question for me!

Still wondering about the ram air effect with the snorkel tube VS the lower intake only.

Cannot say for sure but by design a snorkel has limitations in regards to any ram air affect. Remember that you have a lot more tubing and bends to get around than a purpose built ram air system. I don't think any snorkel manufacture would feel comfortable making that sort of claim... could be wrong, but don't think so.

I agree with everyone else. Keep it under 500 dollars and little to no mods to my Jeep that can't be reversed easily.

So does the lower intake (in the newest pics) replace the oem body panel or does it get installed over the top of the existing panel?
