hmm?

i will bet they havent made it on websites yet cause there trying to fix the problems before they spread.

now they basically told me today they dont give a fuck

they said "we can buy your jeep back and give you the money from your trade in and all your payments you made..

or put me into a new jeep... but they said the chance of this EXACT thing happening again are pretty big....unquote

I don't think you're making up that there is an issue with your Jeep and others. My point is that you made a claim that there was a RECALL! Maybe you just don't understand what a recall is. I hope things get straightened out with your Jeep soon. I know I would be very frustrated if it were me.

Someone else asked this, but it wasn't answered. Do you understand what a recall is? A recall has nothing to do with the dealer or the manufacturer in terms of being created. The government, specifically the NHTSA, is who makes it an official recall. Auto manufacturers can voluntarily do one (which means they agree to have a recall instituted by NHTSA, not challenge it) or they can be forced to do one.

As of this posting, there are no recalls in NHTSA's database and there is only one complaint with NHTSA ODI on 2010 Jeep Wrangler regarding the transmission. It was filed today (03.02.2010) electronically and can be accessed through their website at Safercar.gov. Here's what they have so far: Print Version Link to report. The consumer complaint states that "jeep keeps jumping out of first gear". That's it.

So to recap: There are NO recalls at the moment on 2010 Jeeps. There isn't even an investigation by NHTSA on that model yet. One complaint is all that's been filed (today), hasn't been investigated yet.

Chances are you saw a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) which is designed as a means to keep dealer shops in the loop when issues arise that need clarification. These can cover how to do something or describe trending issues. The latter being the case here. Jeep probably realizes there's an issue and is taking steps to see how bad it is. They want their techs to be on the look out for similar situations and report them, that's how they figure out things are happening.

I wish you luck with the issue. Hopefully they can get it resolved, I can imagine how ticked I'd be in your shoes. I'd also suggest filing a complaint with NHTSA on the issues you're having (vehicle only, not with the dealer.) Just remember to be concise and to the point. They don't care about the other stuff or how you've been treated by the dealer, they need "just the facts." Transmission issue, describe what happens, tell them it's been at dealer for X number of days and had "this" work already done. You can file the report electronically here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/index.cfm

Talking 2010 Sport JK

My 2010 JK Sport was manufactured in the month of August 2009 and i received it on Sep. 21st 09. Ordered it with the 6 speed manual transmission.

Almost 10,000 km's(6000 miles) later, i have no problems at all with the transmission.

Hope this helps.

Congratulations on getting your JK back. Just wondering if you ever got that information on the tranny problem. Was it a TSB, or was the dealer just trying to lead you on with misinformation to cover up a logistics problem that didn't need covering up?

Just wondering if you could provide this as promised? There's still just the one complaint to the NHTSA regarding this issue. I'm really more interested to see what line of crap the dealer sent your way.
