I revisited your first few posts and couldn't find what documentation exactly that you saw. So, what did you see? Not to sound impertinent, but if in fact this is a bonafide recall or TSB that you heard about from the dealer before anyone on JK-Forum posted about it with all of the details, that would be a first. Normally the dealers are about the last people in the world to find out about (or at least admit knowledge of) recalls and TSBs.

That is a valid and subtle point. However, I'll suggest that most TSBs are on newer models which are still under warranty. Which means everyone and his brother, upon learning about a TSB, is interested in having the work done of their vehicle before it gets out from under warranty. Just look at old threads on JK-Forum for the clutch chirp for a perfect example of that.

well this is how it came about..

first they said they had a transmission on its way... right..

okay dropped off monday thinking it would be there to be put in... Wasnt

then week later... it was lost........ uh huh

Expadited another transmission (2nd one now) gets lost same week..

okay...

now i raise hell... service manager wont return calls... main manager wouldnt either.

so i go to the guy i bought jeep from... main sales manager....

went over to parts they pulled up the computer and showed me everything.

In plain words "they were bullshitting you around cause your 19" (sigh) "the transmissions have been stuck in customs for awhile, and chrysler wont give a date to when they will be shipped DUE TO THE NEW RECALL"

to my and his and the parts manager and chrysler customer service...

there is a recall on CERTAIN months 2010JK 6speed transmission INPUT SHAFTS AND SYNCROS..

syncros are safety.......... think about pulling out on to traffic slams out of first and get rear ended by a semi...your dead...

so yes it is a recall....

i do not rem the number... i was absolutly Fuck&ng furious... i stormed out dogging the ever living shit out of my rental

It's tough being 19. Sometimes I must intervene on my son's behalf--he's 19, too. Thanks for keeping us up to speed with what you learn, and I hope that everything works out for you ASAP.

Yes. But, one of my points was, you can't just go to the dealer and ask to have a TSB complied with, unless you are having the problem covered by the TSB.
Even then, it's only free if you still have a warranty that covers what was done.

I posted because some people are under the wrong impression TSB should be free, and complied with on request. I just wanted to clear that up.

If it was a US government Recall it would be listed here:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov

First enough complaints have to be filed. If you search there database for 2010 Jeep Wrangler the only complaints listed are fuel and steering related.

When enough complaints are filed, they investigate it, determine whether or not to issue a Safety Recall.

If it's not posted here, it's not technically a NHTSA Safety recall.

Just got off the phone with a friend that is the service manager and there is no recall ..there have been a few problems but with anything it sometimes happens...they have sold over 112 2010's betwwen the 2 dealerships. I know with us(FORD) we had problems with the rads and heads on the super dutys a couple yrs ago and we went though a ton of them ...they were never a recall. Hope it gets worked out.

Default 2010 JK Recall ???

I have heard from a few people that there seems to be a problem with early 2010 JK transmissions. One guy from another forum had reported a recent problem he experienced with a failed transmission with his 2010 JK and was told by the dealership that there is a problem!! Is anyone aware of this?
