My campsite at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument a couple days ago. Awake early to see the night blooming organ pipes.

I came across this website the other day, their videos of their trip are pretty cool. Guys went from Eureka, MT to Alaska then the Yukon then home. No Jeeps went, just Toyota's, but still worth watching in my opinion!!

Yeah, these videos were pretty cool, they were mostly on paved, dirt, or gravel roads, did have some off road trips, but, the whole trip was pretty cool. I wonder if a Jeep could do the Trans-America Trail? I think mostly bikes have done the whole trail, but, wonder if that would make a good Jeep adventure!

That would be an adventure alright. There are parts of the bike route where at times no 4 wheel vehicles could pass. Not sure what LR is claiming, or what route they took, but I've hiked a section that would be tricky even on a motorbike. Maybe on one of the alternate routes that exist (e.g. Cinnamon). Depends on how wet the year is as well. I couldn't carry enough fuel to make it through the whole remote stretch through the Rockies. Another advantage to the bikers.
Here's a good story of a partial run:

I drove across the country on and off the t
Trans America trail for 2 weeks when I got out of the USMC in my JK. I didn't run into any problems in the sections k
I did... except deep snow in some of the mountain passes. There's two different folks who have sort of "pioneered" the trail. One guys name is Sam and he has a website where you can purchase the GPS tracks. The other guy GPSkevin is the source I used. His stuff is free. I just saved it, put it in a micro SD card and popped it in your standard Garmin nuvi.
The trail is decided into sections, the longest of which I believe is 160 miles. The sections are primarily off road but go from fuel source to fuel source so I didn't have to plan for an insanely long range. It was a great trip. I'd like to go back and do the rest of the parts I skipped ahead on (I skipped ahead because of time, or snow, I didn't experience any bike trails but can't promise there aren't some narrow spots. On his site he claims that the trail is suitable for jeeps etc)
