Did mine today, used a 13gauge 16" x 30" separated steel sheet found at a local Ace HW, lowes and HD had nothing similar. This was thick enough to contour it for the curve of the grill shell. Only had to trim an inch from one end and fitted the bottom around the clips. Now my grill is 10x as rigid

Thats for the sheet- 28.5x14

Part # 7582K12 for the zip tie cubes in black

I used Brake cleaner to clean the grill and black caliper paint to paint it.

Paint first so its ready for install!!

I Took out the 6 plastic screw- did by hand - hint hint

Pulled gently by the blinker- not to hard now its still connected

Pulled red tab out FIRST- then pulled plug out

Pulled bottom out

Have grill ready

Laid all the tie downs - 3 going down and one on each top hole

Zip tied each one using a small screwdriver to help get the tie up

Re Install the grill and Vuala!!

THANKS Ponpeta!!!!!!

thanks for keeping sum change in my pocket and the great ideas!!

great post!

where you have the screws i have the round plugs where you need to either pry them out with a flat head screwdriver and they get mushed, or if you use a chip extractor they are reuseable

i have a 2012 2 door sport s

I used the rustoleum Bed liner when I did mine. Came out with a nice textured finish.

First built a workbench to do my grille mod...
tedious work but love the result!!
I actually used a dremel with a sand paper attachment to remove all the sticky pads off the zip tie blocks soooooo much faster. Also used goop contact cement glue for PVC,plastics etc on the back and for an extra security used gorilla glue on top of the blocks(that's why it looks messy) no one sees that side anyways. Painted yellow of course go Steelers!!
Sorry Iphone I downloaded the pics in proper sequence BUT it obviously didn't turn out that way lol
