It amazes me that such a simple mod wasn't done by Chrysler in the first place . It didn't cost a thing - and makes such a difference.

I did this same MOD to my Cherokee a few years ago, and it turned out great. After I did mine my little brother asked how I did it and then promptly went out and did his. The following week was hectic as there were other XJ owners contacting us to do theirs. From the look of it I'll be doing both JKs when I do the Grill MOD in the next couple of weeks.

Finally got around to doing this mod. I have an 07 X and I just had to connect the BLACK wire from the side markers to the WHITE OUTSIDE wire on the front signals. The front signals have 3 wires, two white and one black, just connect it to the one on the outside, not the white wire in the middle.

Once done, using turning signal they blink together but with parking lights on they alternate.

My friend and I took a quick video to show what the mod looks like when done.

Enjoy!

Default DSY Help!!!!

On the turn sig/running socket there will be 3 wires going into it. One black and then two white ones with colored stripes. Its been awhile since I did mine so I don't remember which colored stripe it was but I know it was not the center wire. Tap the black wire from the side marker into the white wire farthest from the black wire on the front socket. Dang that sounds confusing but it works.
You dont really need to unplug any of the connectors to do this. Just peel the wire loom back enough to make your cut and splice.
DSY HELP!!!??? I followed your instructions, have only tried the right side. The turn signal up front doesnt work and the marker light is out completely. I cut the black wire from the marker light and tapped it into the outermost white wire and only had the rear turn signal at a fast blink. I unhooked it and it went back to working. What did I do wrong? I'm not the best at electrical, but I can follow directions, cut this and attach here. I want to do this but i must be doing something wrong. Can you help?

Did this today. Pretty simple mod.

Here's a pic of what I did before I taped it all back up.

I didn't add any wire, just cut the black wire for the marker light close to the plug mounted behind the headlight and tapped it in to the outer white blinker wire. There's plenty of slack, just a little tight to get my hands in there to do everything.

Couple of quick vids here.

Blinkers on, lights off.

Blinkers on, lights on.
