It’s kind of strange My cj-yj-tj all did the marker light flash and somehow Chrysler missed it on the JK easy mod, Just make sure if you’re going to use bite in type connectors to weather proof them they don’t like water and don’t last, Someone asked what to do with the black wire that was cut, It just goes to ground just tuck it back and tape it back to its self or the harness.

What did I do wrong? I'm not the best at electrical, but I can follow directions, cut this and attach here. I want to do this but i must be doing something wrong. Can you help?
This same thing happened to me. I read this entire thread from front to back and my shit is still jacked up.

The black wires are all ground wires, right? If so, how does taking a Ground wire away from a bulb allow it to still work? That;s basically what you're saying to do when people say to snip the black wire running to the side marker light.

It makes more sense to me that I should be splicing from the outside wire on the front turn signal to the white wire on the side marker light, not the other way around.

Did mine today..worked great.Use the white with larger green stripe on the drivers side grill light(turn signal/parking light and the black wire to the flare light and white with thicker orange stripe on the signal/parking light to the black wire on the fender flare light on the passenger side.

Make sure you cut the black wire running to the flare light completley and hook it to the outside white with striped wire on each side FROM the fender flare bulb ..you don`t CUT the white wire, you SPLICE the black wire with a 6" jumper wire into the outter white wire on the front signal .Also dont cut the white wire for the fender flare lights for any reason..leave it alone along with the middle white striped wire and black wire for thr front turn signals...no need!! I tried to make this easy to understand..so sorry if its a dull read lol.

I messed up once and hooked the black wire up but I hooked it up to the wrong cut end so make sure you hook up the part of the black wire still connected to the flare bulb holder.
Easiest mod I ever did!

*** if you use those press connectors instead of cut and twisting the wires the old fashioned way...make sure you press the "lid" shut completley or the metal bade will not cut into thewires deep enough to make connection..I had it happen so I just cut, stripped, twisted and taped all my wires together lol***************

right concept KMB: the black wire from side marker bulb to the outside white wire on the turn signal. i would say double check where you have spliced the wires together. otherwise you have done everything correctly.

can you take some actual photos of the connections?
