Hypertech ups the game!
With the new features coming out next week? Hypertech.
Several folks have reported issues with their superchips. Pinging, drive ability issues, etc.
Technically, the super chips make a few more hp and tq, but not enough difference to really matter.
I'd rather have reliability.

........This new version has every option our competition offers and a lot more. Rock crawl tune turns on when you shift the vehicle into 4Lo, The idle can be programmed to raise automatically when large amp draw pulls on the battery. The cool part is the idle raises to the max output of your alternator not higher than useful idle that absorbs more power than the optimized rpm for the alternator. The plug in idle up should be considered for force charges before using a Welder or airing up all four 40's

Glad I still kept my Hypertech after purchasing the Superchips. May have to give this a try once the updates are available after Thanks Giving
Has anyone received an UPDATED programmer from Hypertech yet? UPS tracking reports they recieved mine on Monday 11/21. I am trying to guage the turnaround since I am located in TN. I hope to see it before Thanksgiving but that is wishful thinking! If anyone has recieved it, have you installed the new tune and how is the performance?

Thanks Jay
THANK YOU JAY!!! I finally have the Hypertech programmer after it was delivered to the neighbor’s house. Luckily no one is renting it for the moment. I have programmed my 2008, 6 speed JK with VIPER throttle body on the REGULAR fuel setting with the “NEW” soon-to-be-released program. I have set it for the VIPER throttle body, “Hypertech” throttle response and “Q” top speed of 99 MPH (top-speed limiter). I have left the rev limiter and engine fan to the “stock” settings for now. There are a lot of new menus and settings to get use to and adjust. I will not be able to provide feedback on the disable traction control, enhanced sway bar disconnect, the enhanced diff locker or automatic transmission settings since my “X” does not have these options. My initial feedback is “WOW” from an unscientific seat-of-the-pants 15 mile test drive just taken, WOW! It usually takes about a week for a fresh program upload to settle and trim adjust during my weekly driving. I feel different power levels from the tune that I can only attribute to the settings for throttle response and the VIPER TB fuel trim, it is definitely much different from stock or the previous tune without the VIPER TB setting. The only thing I am disappointed is the TPMS setting which I set to 30 PSI. My “X” had aftermarket ProComp wheels and BF Goodrich 35” AT tires on it as purchased. I must now assume that the TPMS sensors are long gone with the original wheels and tires. I am going to try a very low setting (2 PSI) just to see if the dash indicator lamp goes off. I see that I will be very busy this weekend testing the tune out and exploring the options. Obviously my initial impressions do not mean much since it will take a while for the 3.8L ECM to train to the tune but it does feel better in drivability and acceleration than the original “REGULAR” fuel tune I have ran for over a year. Let’s see where the fuel mileage sets in; I was getting 16 MPG on the stock setting. I will be running about 20 miles on Thanksgiving but maybe more if I get really excited!

Another big Thank You to Jay as well. Got my replacement hardware with the new tune, just before the holiday, super quick turn around! So far so good, the only new feature I 've had time to play with is the throttle response sensitivity. Right now I am running 10% in the low(0-10mph) and 20% in the medium (10mph-40mph) which makes for a subtle but noticeable difference in around town driving. This one of the adjustments I have been most interested in but really didn't want to purchase a Sprint booster in addition to a tuner. Hypertech has come through with flying colors in my opinion, and with excellent customer service.
I have probaly posted this in other threads but wanted to get it into this one also:
I am now testing the soon-to-be-released Hypertech "VIPER" TB tune (setting) in their new software since right before Thanksgiving. Again, I am extremely happy with the performance I am getting from this combination (TB + Hypertech tune). I am seeing faster acceleration, power and MPG increase of 1 to 2.0 MPG. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS INCONCLUSIVE since I have been running the new tune for about 150 miles and the ECU has not fully adjusted to it yet. My initial impression is "WOW" from the seat-of-pants meter and observed MPG. I will need to run several tanks of fuel to get some final impressions and true MPG increase. I have tried both the lowest (2 PSI) and 30 PSI setting on the new TPMS setting but my low pressure indicator lamp is still on. I wish there was just an "OFF" setting for the TPMS! The throttle settings (aka Sprintbooster) seems to be working well but I cannot distingusih this from the VIPER TB and the new "Hypertech" tune settings for it. The immediate force functions for IDLE and FAN work without having to reprogram every time. There are a LOT of new settings that should put Hypertech on par with their competition. Hope some more guys and Hypertech can give some feedback here...I need to do some more playing around with it! I am getting ready to roll up 500 miles minimum on this Hypertech update this week commuting to work so I should have some more feedback to post here.
