I didn't buy mine from AEV either. Check ebay, search for Sy-klone and you'll find a shop from Canada selling all the different sizes of Sy-klone filters.

Ok thanks guys..... Why on Quadratec you see AEV SNORKEL pre filter top (glass bowl one) it's $59 but at Northridge 4x4 it looks more solid gray and it's $129. Is the Quadratec not for the Gen 2 snorkel?

jwilson2598 which one do you have??

Now that I know, that you have the Sy-klone too and not Topspin (by donaldson), I can give you a more precise answer on why I went with the larger one.
The air flow rating on the Sy-klones with the 3" inlet is lower than the 1st gen. pre-cleaners' by donaldson.
I was afraid to lose power.

Does the Top Spin windowed pre-filter actually collect the dust, or does it eject it like the Sy-Klone? I'm guessing that because it has a window, it must be necessary to see the dust level and empty it periodically.

Yup...that's why I bought the Sy-Klone as it ejects the dust as the impeller spins

The Topspin does eject dust. But the one with the glass bowl doesn't, it's collecting the dirt.
