Default update question

First, thank you for the information on this thread, I think it was JPop that nailed what setting I would prefer based upon my usage. I've been running the 93 tune for about 3 months including a beach trip packed solid with rear cargo storage. Jeep held 75+ on the highway no problem. Love this tune.

My question is simple, how often do I need to download and install updates? If everything is going well should I still do updates?

I personally don't like to do a lot of updates. There are often fixes for specifi issues that have no bearing on my vehicle. With some of these fixes come problems for others, so I just make note of the feedback. However, when I do need to take my Jeep to the dealer and have returned to stock, it's as good as time as ever. It's doing a PCM reset anyway, so I know I'll be starting fresh and if for any reason the dealer did a PCM re-flash, I'm sure to have the latest firmware update from Superchips to address whatever changes were made from Chrysler.

For the most part, dealers aren't going to randomly re-flash the PCM so I don't think it is much of an issue, it's just a good time for me to reset and upgrade.

Additionally, since I see you have an automatic if you don't have the transmission package I would definitely get it (paid upgrade). In other Chrysler platforms it has met with rave reviews and people have been extremely happy with the newfound performance. I have it on my '06 Ram and it's been great. No more soft spots in the shift schedule and places where I didn't want a downshift to occur I can maneuver around. I don't have it on my Jeep as it's a manual, so I'll defer to others as to their thoughts.

Default More than one computer?

Okay, so I spent a few days reading this whole thread , and went out and picked up a Flashpaq . Can the unit be updated by more than one computer? I guess, what I mean is...can I have the Superchips software installed on two different computers and update the Flashpaq from either one? Maybe I've just been brainwashed by iTunes...???

Yes, the internet update software can be installed on hundereds of Windows based PC's that you have access to. You just need to log in to the PC you plan to download software to when you need to use it.

Sounds great! I updated the Flashpaq and then was looking at available upgrades/options. I didn't see the Advanced Trans option. Am I missing something?

FWIW, I haven't had it plugged into the Jeep yet if that matters.

Just installed my Superchips on my lunch break.

Flawless installation, just a little scary when my Hot Oil light was beeping the whole time during "Initialization".

Updated my tires @ 34.75 KM2's set to 87 Octane Tune forgot the tire sensor idiot light, but i'll re-tune during my next 93 Octane fill-up.

To be honest, it doesn't feel any different besides when it shifts at the very end, kind of feels like it jumps forward in the transition between shifting.

I will update this thread after a day's worth of driving.

the PCM needs about 50 miles driving to relearn everything. u will notice it feels different as u put some miles on it.
