Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
Just got my superchip and used the 87 octane tune.... Tested it out on the road today and I got preignition with my foot down. Kind of killed my interest in the chip as my soul concern is the longevity of my motor. What are some fixes people have used to solve this problem?

Also, what other upgrades do you have? While the Flashpaq is reasonably forgiving, intake and exhaust upgrades can slightly lengthen the PCM relearn process. Additionally, if you are running different than stock plugs that can also make a big difference.
Hope that helps.

I just ordered my SC tuner the other day....should have it tomorrow. I'm interested to know if I should tune my JK now, during the winter months. I live in Maine, and of course they switch to winter gas during these months.......any advice would be great!!!!
I want to do the 87 octane tune....but am I wasting my time and money to do this now? Anyone live in the winter gas region, and have no pinging?
Am I better off just adjusting the stock tune? I believe I can set my skinny pedal (gas pedal), so that it gets rid of the lag when you step on it.....Is this correct?
I've done so much reading and there are so many opinions, it's hard to tell what works best.....

I've had my flashpaq installed for a couple years now here in Alaska and have never had a problem with it......summer or winter, never any pinging. I know a couple that have experienced pinging have switched over to the tow tune, and even using 87 with it has got rid of the ping. Just try it and go from there. I know I wouldn't wait.
