Firsy I must say that I bought the superchips because of my wife.
She kept bugging me how slow is the jeep compared to the Golf GTI VR6 (I made her switch vehicle to commute as I am planning on replacing the Golf with an Audi S5)

So for her birthday I bought her the superchips....she was soooo Happy...NOT!

Whatever she got the superchips. I did install it in 10 minutes and took the jeep for a ride. (87 setup)

First I did not see any change, so I took it on the freeway and blasted it!!!
OMG I was almost 100mph on 4th gear! and I was not in red zone.

I feel more grunch on the jeep now and with the K&N it seems a perfect system

My wife also loves it ...REALLY!!!

Has anyone actually measured their MPG before and after with the fill and calculate method? The dash display is notoriously off and an unscrupulous vendor could easily make it "look good" and read better numbers (not saying that's happening here, but I've seen it on diesel chips...)

I have done this numerous times although my driving has been very inconsistent. I've been over 20mpg and right around 18mpg 50/50 city/highway. I have a more exacting post on this somewhere, but as memory serves those wre around the numbers rolling on 35s.

BTW, although my Jeep's computer seems to be a little high on my Dodge Ram with an SC installed is probably 20% low in terms of MPG. Looking at the computer and gas mileage in my truck will often drop my heart into my stomach until I calculate it out with paper and pencil.

Welp I could not stand it any longer. After reading this thread about the super chips programmer, and then reading all the rest, I had to get one. Just ordered it from Northridge4x4.

Thanks for all the very useful feedback on this unit. I really hope I experience some of what yall are.

yeh, same here. pretty sure i wouldn't have purchased the programmer had i not read this thread. however, i've been pleased with it and don't regret it. still need to clock some more miles to get some mpg results, but i'm confident that i'll be happy.

Good to hear. I have tracked my milage very closely prior to the purchase, and I am only doing one mod at a time. So, I should be able to have accurate feedback once I get mine and put some miles on the JK as well.

i tracked 4 tank-fulls prior to the purchase, because i was buying an exhaust and wanted to see if there was any difference. the exhaust and tuner arrived within 5 days of each other and i just couldn't wait to run the 3 or 4 tank-fulls with just the exhaust to determine the exhaust impact. once the initial thrill wears off i might return it to stock settings and calculate the tuner's mpg impact. i doubt it though.
