Default Superchips Tire Size Question

Has anyone had problems with the tire size programming on the Superchips?

With the stock programming and 35's my Jeep was WAY off (80 actual at an indicated 72). When I got the Superchips programmer I measured my tires at 34.25", programmed that in, and it was off quite a bit the other direction. I tried again at 34" and I am still traveling slower than indicated.
I just reprogrammed at 33.75" and will give that a shot, but was wondering if I was the only one with these issues?

Thanks

i have, but in all fairness, i haven't measured my tires yet. keep meaning to do that. i just plugged in 35 and while i haven't officially tested it i can tell that the speedo is running higher than my actual speed. i'll measure my tires this weekend and plug it in and see what i get.

I don't think it's a failure of the Superchips programmer. It's a matter of actually programming your real tire size. If you are using a GPS then continue to tweak your tire size until your speed coicides with your GPS. A better way (I believe) is to get a friend or someone (preferably a friend with a police car because it has a certified odometer) mark out a 5280 foot section of road (1 mile) and run that fixed distance and see what your odometer shows. Make your adjustments base on a factual mile. Once you've done that, your odometer and speedometer will be set properly and your calculations will be accurate.

OK Doug. Aren't you the guy that bought my Hypertech a few weeks ago? That's definitely a pretty quick jump and although I know I gave you a great deal on the Hypertech, I hope you got your money back out of it.

As for measuring the tires, measure them from the ground to the top of the tire with them mounted on the vehicle sitting level. Do not measure the spare and do not measure the tires horizontally. From contact patch to top of the tire and you should be all set.

Also, brief seat of the pants comparison of the Hypertech and the Flashpaq?

Default Superchips

Yes I feel the Superchips has more "seat of the pants" power, and for sure increased the mileage over the Hypertech.

My tires measure 34.25 from the ground to the top.
The Hypertech worked best set to 34", and the Superchips seems to work best at 33.75" (Based on my GPS data)

Hey......finally got DSL.....(totally stoked), downloaded the update software to the computer just fine. Went to register and it says "email validation required" So check for email........nothin'. That was hours ago. Emailed Superchips but no reply. I could see how the store wouldn't reply, but didn't think the site took weekends off. So, no longer have super slow dialup but still can't update the Flashpaq. What's up with that?

Called Superchips today and asked if I could get an "email validation" so I could log on. He fixed whatever there at the shop and said...." all you have to do now is login".....Came home after work, went to login and it says "login failed". Jeeze....this is getting to be a drag.

Same thing happened to me so try this, it worked for me.

Go to the log in page and enter your login info. Then click on forgot password and it will promt you with the securyty question. Once you enter that, it will send you an email with the new password. C & P that pass word and enter it in the log in. It should let you in ant the first thing that will ask you is to change the password again.

Good luck and i hope it works for you!
