Don't change your fan on temperatures to anything lower than 215 with the stock thermostat!

You definitely need some headspace between the thermostat opening and the fan on temperature or you will find yourself with CELs and DTCs caused by an open fan relay when shutting the motor down.

As a rule of thumb your fan on temperature should be 20 degrees higher than your thermostat.

Dave, I saw a red GTO today, may have been a '65, was sitting on the shiniest set of SS Cragars you ever saw, with a set of 50's and probably 10" wide rim on the back!

I moved to the Denver area a week ago and I was worried about the JK having a serious lack of power here. Actually, I can't tell much of a difference at all driving it normally. If I floor it, I can tell a little difference, but not huge. I did notice a big power drop off today when I was in the mountains and I went over 9000 ft, but that's to be expected. At ~5400 ft its totally livable.

I think that my Flashpaq and CAI really might have a lot to do with it. I suppose the 6 speed and 4.10s don't hurt either... I'm running the 87 tune 87 octane gas (which is mid grade here).

My fiance has an '06 Sentra with a 1.8l engine in it and its soooo slow even around town. Its been hit HARD by the altitude, couldn't imagine it in the mountains...

How fast will this loader load? I'm thinking about gambling on one then taking the Jeep to a diesel drag event where a buddy will have his mobile Dyno Jet. Generally he stays really busy at these so I want to respect his time if I'm going to make stock pulls, load a tune and pull again.

Plus, it will be embarrassing enough putting this Jeep up there being surrounded by 600-1000 hp pickups.

My jeep is pretty heavy....
I'm not sure that I noticed a ton of difference....... It might seem a little peppier, I guess I need to give it chance. I've only driven it about a 1/4 tank.
My jeep has 4000 miles on it. I installed my suspension, axles, tires, bumpers etc....... around 3500 miles ago. I keep a log of my fuel economy and I have averaged around 13-13.5 mpg . I will consider it a success if I see a little improvement with fuel economy. I got 19-20 stock and will be happy with 15 or 16.
It seems that the flashpaq has been very successful for a lot of JKs. I hope that I can say the same with my setup!

You may just need the 3.8l to wake up a bit with a few more miles. It seems these engines are dogs for the first few thousand miles while the 'puter is "learning". I noticed mine waking up about 3500 miles.

Default I made it to the end!

Hooray, I made it to the end of these posts! Ordered mine yesterday from Northridge and it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I wanted to finish this thread before it got here. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the special "closed" discount until today. Oh well, can't catch everything.

I think I understand how the updating process works. You update the software, then install. When you install the sc reads your stock pcm settings and may inform you that you need to get yet another specific update for your jeep, which may or may not be immediately available. When you go back to the computer the sc will send info to superchips re a need for a more updated program for your jeep, if one is not already available. And this is because new factory-dealer pcm tweaks are happening all the time. Do I have that right?

My 08 Rubi Unlimited is 'bone stock' (unless you count door, hood, and gas cap lock upgrades and a cb radio), so hopefully I will find a working program from the get-go. From what I have read the 87 octane program will meet my needs just fine. I will then check my speed against my Nuvi 880, and go back and tweek tire size, if necessary.

Thanks for all the info guys. I will report back after the install.

BTW it would be nice if everyone would at least list their jeep model for an easier comparison of findings.

It seems like there is an update every week (literally). Im not complaining, but it would be nice if the updater software told you what the updates were when you go online.

I had ordered a flashpaq just prior to purchasing a 08 Sahara out in PA. I was hoping to have it before the 1100 mile trip home but I did not recieve it in time. I did manage to average 17.1 over a span of 4 tank fill ups (using my Garmin). This was with a 4 inch lift running 35" MTZ. Once I got home I downloaded all the updates to date and set the Flashpaq at 87 octane and entered in my tire size. My 08 is and automatic and wondering what settings others are finding out there that seem to get the most mpg.

And by the way this whole site just kicks butt. Best information on products that work and dont work.
