I just saw yesterday that new Kindle Fire models have been announced that are supposedly better than the Nexus 7. Just figured I throw that out there for those looking to purchase soon.

Only major downfall of the Kindles are that they lack GPS. Other than that they are sweet devices.

Hi Mark, thanks! we had great fun, to get over this ditch, Brady took the chainsaw, cut a dead tree down in 10 pieces and covered the ditch. Great fun to build a small bridge and try to get over it, still not easy as the hill was rather steep

Next big trip will be the Borneo Extreme Expedition 2012, going to be a great challenge as it is around mount Kinabalu the highest mountain on Borneo, cannot wait

I built a drawer unit for my JKU. It's all 3/4" maple plywood. I added rubber matting and 6 tie-down points on the top to fasten more gear on top of it. It's around 34"W x 28"D x 7"H. One drawer currently holds recovery straps, shackles and pulley. The other drawer has tools and small gear, parts and various small fluids containers.

And I'm headed to Big Bend next month, and a trail we still have to define (headed on a small exploratory trip later this month to do that), probably in the wilds of Arkansas, shortly after that. So, expect more pic's from me as well.
