Mark,
Do these create any extra glare? I have seen a lot of lights (like Light force w/ polycarb protectors) create more glare when such protectors are used. I don't think it would be an issue with your set up, but could see it being an issue with windshield mounted lights or lights right above the windshield.

Dave from Northridge is editing his online info to include it will not fit with a Gobi
What's the fitment issue with the 2nd generation & the Gobi rack?

Generation 1 air ram fits fine & prefilter works with small mod.

From installing it, could you tell how difficult swapping batteries would be.

The new AEV gen2 if larger in diameter and hugs the pillar more. They told me it was built with their rack design. It is supposed to be a better snorkel adding more air flow and power but a waste in my eyes.

I like the river raider it just doesn't sit up high enough for me. A wave splashes up over the hood not a ton of room. They do make an extension but it blocks the passenger view. In my honest opinion none of them look amazing. But function is key. I'm glad I got one anyway

It won't be much different than a changing a stock one. I can take an under the hood pic tomorrow if you'd like. It just sets a few inches closer to the motor.

The price certainly isn't my favorite either but the Congo Cage limits my options. And I try not to drive on the ocean so waves aren't a huge concern.

Okay, I was looking at pictures the other day and it appeared to run over the battery but maybe it was the angle of the pic.

I carry stuff occasionally on a rear carrier. The first trip out in the jeep with the carrier on the back, I was SOL when I had to get into the back to fill the cooler with ice. Had to unload my canopies etc to get into the back. The next weekend I broke out the welder and some tubing and got the carrier up and out of the way. I figure if the swingout was designed to handle (2)5gal cans of gas and a 37" tire, a 100lbs of gear on a carrier should be fine. I think the most I have had was about 50. Does kill the rear view mirror, but that's what a rear camera is for.

The last pic, you can see(sort of, had the damn ISO up from the night before) the two 1/2" set screws to keep everything from rocking, one on the receiver tubing welded on the swingout that holds the 90 degree extension. The other on receiver tubing of the extension that the carrier slides into. The setscrew on the extension makes for a quick trashsack holder when not carrying a trasharoo.

For those of you who have built your own trailer.........I just bought a trailer, but it has tiny little tires and wheels on it. I want to put my stock rubi tires/wheels on it which means I will have to replace axle and hub and all that.....Where did you guys buy yours and what specifically is it. I understand from reading that most of them even though the pattern matches, dont accept stock jeep wheels/tires

I bought my axle from soutwestwheel.com. You can specify hub face length from 45-95" in 1" increments on whatever axle you want (2000lbs, 3500lbs). You specify whatever bolt pattern you want and they ship with the spring seats loose so you can mount them wherever you need. Which worked great for me since I converted an old seadoo trailer I picked up for $100 into a camping trailer and needed a 65" HF and springs mounted at 47" (i think, can't remember). All of the axles I was finding locally already had the spring seats mounted and to get an axle with hubs and loose spring seats was going to cost about $200. I don't know about the bore hole on the stock wheel accepting the hub though. I can tell you it worked on mine but I used the old Jeep wheels (the 5-star if you are familiar with Jeep wheels) that have the Jeep engraved into them so the bore hole is probably different than your new ones. I would call them if I where you and ask them about fitment, they are very helpful. Got my axle with hubs, lug nuts, spring seats, and u-bolts for $144 shipped to my door, and it arrived like 2 days after I ordered it!
