One thing I've been trying to figure out is if the Gobi mounts to the body by the tail lights. It always looks like it does and I haven't been able to find out for sure. So if you could let me know that would be great.

I believe it mounts to the frame. Look on the Gobi order page at ead, they have an install video.

Yeap they mount to the frame. No drilling or any body modifications, that's why I chose the Gobi over the others.

I like them. They have saved my hood light and the protect my snorkel. I have heard that they can damage your jeep if you do a lot of flexing. However I had mine on for about a year and do a lot of washouts and have never had any issues.

How do you like that snorkel? Works pretty well with the Gobi?

I looked at a lot of different snorkels before I chose the Rugged Ridge.

AEV: Wouldn't work because I have teraflex hood struts, and not a big fan of the black snake running down the side either.

River Raider: Really really liked this snorkel, however can't run dual batteries (which I eventually want to do) and I don't like the extension.

ARB: Nice but expensive and you have to cut a big hole in the fender. Also wasn't real sure about the mounting with the Gobi.

Rugged Ridge: Very little cutting and can be put back to stock if needed. Also Gobi sells a bracket just for this snorkel to work with the rack. Can put the low mount on if needed and no one even notices it. All in all it was definitely the best choice to work with the Gobi for what I wanted.
