Suggestions for quality aftermarket non-LED headlights for a JK that sees considerable use in adverse weather and in the mountains?

Thanks, Guy

If you want lights that perform pretty much as OEM lights do on most vehicles (the JK being a notable exception), then I recommend the IPF headlights. If you want more light than typical OEM, then the IPFs likely won't satisfy.

Thanks Mark, I like the way you put that, and yes, the IPF's will probably satisfy. I've got a pair of small Vision X lights that I can run as amber fogs, or as more of a general purpose driving light if I need more than that.

And, plenty of room on for a set of some kinda LED Laser-Blasting off-road only type lights if I want them. Normally though, no need. When it's dark, I'm usually hanging out by the campfire, not driving.

Wandering the Southwest, well, Utah and Arizona anyway. These photos all from Utah within the past week:

Very pleased with how well the Jackwagon trailer tracks, both on and off pavement. I've used it a bit in Washington, but this is the longest trip I've used it on, about 1500 miles so far.

Regards, Guy

The series is now complete and online. Here's the first one ...

As for the overheating, let me just say I made the trip okay. And on my workbench I have the suspect part to replace. It's the relay I use for turning off the engine cooling fan when crossing deep water. Pretty sure that vibration has taken its toll on the contacts, causing it to on occasion have high resistance to the engine fan input voltage. The video series does not go into every instance of the problem. It first started, after seven months of thinking I had it fixed, while in Guymon, OK. They have cobblestone streets that were vibrating the heck out of the Jeep. And every time after that it was on some type of high vibration surface--such as a washboard road. Some moderate tapping on the relay would allow the fan to work again. It's also possible that the wiring at the relay is loose, so I'll be checking that over closely when I replace the relay. Beyond that, well, I'll let you watch the video series to see exactly what happens and when and how I was prepared to handle it. ;-)
