Scott @ superchips said they are having IT problems and should be up in a few days
Couldn't be happier!! Followed the directions to the letter and everything went as instructed! Registering, updating and install all were smooth!! First impressions....to early to tell of mpg's but performance....hands down one of the best mods yet to my Rubi. Out of the gate running the 87 Octance tune and changed tire size, the zip and lack of downshifts on my rather hilly daily commute is hands down worth the money! Will update in a week or so...thanks Superchips!!
This thread has almost 200 pages so please forgive me if this has been covered... What i am wanting to know about is the add on ability to tune the auto trans on my 08 Sahara. I am specifically wondering about the ability to tune the shifting into and out of OD while driving at partial throttle. It seems like you have to bury the pedal at Hwy speeds to get it to downshift. Can you adjust this with the tuner?
It gives you 3 different tables to program, 1 each for: Normal (ie. overdrive is on), O/D Off, and Low Range. It's kinda like having 3 different 'presets', or programs available, on tap. I haven't changed the Normal or Low Range (yet), but I did change the table for 'O/D Off' to be much more agressive, so it holds it in the lower gear longer (speeding up), and downshifts sooner / easier when you stomp on it. Thus, when the Overdrive is on (Normal mode), it still finds the highest gear to save gas (factory program), but when I press the O/D Off button, I have a 'sport mode' for around town. Really cool.
The tables allow you to set each gear change with a separate table: For Normal, you can set 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-3, 3-2, 2-1; For 'O/D Off', you can only change 1-2, 2-3, 3-2, 2-1 of course. (Haven't looked at low range yet). Each gear change has its own (sub)table of settings. On the subtable, there's 4 or 5 (don't have it in front of me) lines, with a column of preset 'throttle percent' values / lines - What you can change (for each line), is the speed at which the shift will occur, when you've pressed the gas pedal down (at least) that % down.
As you can guess, it takes quite a while to run through and set all the various lines / speeds, for each gear change (say 15 - 20 minutes), but having that degree of control is awesome. It also took me a few sessions, over a few days, to tweak it to be just the way I want, but to have that control is great! ("...and loving it!" Maxwell Smart, 1971).
OK, I did change one step in the Normal mode, being the 3-4, and 4-3 shift points. Like you, the factory programming bugged me - It would hold it in 4th (O/D) forever (say going up a hill), slow down, slower, slower, then BOOM you'd be in 2nd gear, totally skipping 3rd! I've made it shift into 3rd properly now, and it's way more pleasant to drive.
I'm running 94 Octane (Mohawk) premium, with the 93 tune. This, plus the Superchips change in the throttle response curve, plus the auto trans reprogramming, have made a HUGE difference in the performance and driveability of the Jeep. Of the three, I think the trans tuning made the biggest difference.
I was also surprised at the lack of information that Superchips has on their website, (or in the manual) about this feature. Hope it helps.
Yes, and Yes. I also got the auto trans control upgrade feature, for my 08 Rubicon, and I'm really happy with it.

Thanks for the info, I feel like this is going to help a lot of people. I could not get this info out of RON over on the superchips forums.
As for the torque management settings what can you tell me about that?

I'm lifted (Airock), and there's no way to electronically share the settings (to my knowledge - I'm sure Superchips could do it...). I could write it all down, but it wouldn't save you any time, and everyone will have different preferences anyway, so not really worth it.
Sorry to ask this question here since I did ask it in another thread, but this seems to be the official unofficial flashpaq thread.
I'm going into the dealer next week and I just want to make sure the flashpaq is completely off the vehicle. I put the jeep back to stock and as suggested in another thread, I made sure my tpms and tire size are also back to stock.
Now when I hook up the Flashpaq, I don't get a "linked to" msg. The tuner goes straight to the main menu.
Is this telling me the tuner is now unlocked from my vehicle and the jeep is ok to go to the dealership?
Thanks
