During the tune with the annoying sound! Didn't see anything in the manual about it!

That's normal. During one tune my windshield wipers turn on. Superchips tells me to turn them off before programming, but it's their program turning them on.

Yeah mine did it the first time I loaded a tune. Once installed it shouldn't do it again

I bought mine used off of one of the members here. Ran 87 tune without problems (other than above mentioned hot oil buzzer)
Tried to update it today (to play with 91 tune) and was greeted with a suggestion to purchase a VIN unlock for $100.
Is it something I need? Something that seller should've warned me about?

They must not have returned their vehicle completely to stock.

What would be my next step? Is there a way around it? Or should I ask the guy about refund of $100 and purchase unlock?

To be 100% fair and clear, I did use it on a vehicle already to run an 87 tune without a problem.
Perhaps this is an option that they offer as a default suggestion???

So you tuned it once at 87, went back and was told to upgrade? That shouldn't be happening...

After updating, there were four options. I'll try to remember : TPMS something (said that it is already installed), VIN unlock for $100, yet another option that was already unlocked and a $39.95 option to change transmission points (for some reason settings for '04, '05, and '06 featured)
I'm beginning to think that it is their version of Amazon suggestion banner : "customers that purchased this also purchased that"

Ran 91 tune. A very mild improvement (unless it is a placebo effect or sudden leadfootolatis)
I think I read somewhere that there is a learning time for a chip to get optimum results. Will update.
