Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
I just updated my tuner and I clicked on the tpms disable and I signed the waiver, it displays on the update screen that my programmer is up to date. I plugged into the jeep and it's not there, I can lower to 26 psi but no disable. I tried the update twice and same. Anyone else had this happen yet.
Like I posted, it's not in the menu, but it's disabled.
I could also lower th tire pressure to 26psi, but with the addition of the TPMS offroad disable package, it's not functional. TPMS is disabled.
Yep, I know, confusing as heck, but it works. I had a veryl ong drive today and no light, not even at the point where it would come on normally.
Is your TPMS light on or not?

Thanks for the response, I tried it again and downloaded the offroad and then the offroad disable and now I have the toggle function, it's off and all seems well. I'll give it some drive time tomofrrow and report back but in the garage the light's out.
new09rubi got it figured out, KEEP TRYING!
After my light came back on he told me what he had done, I downloaded & re-installed it again then in the menu, TPMS disable is an option under TPMS.
WOOHOO!
No dings, lights, and it's wonderful! Especially at night!
Many thanks new09rubi and Wheelerbob!

I had to download the "Off Road" and "Off Road Disable" packages before it would work. You know you have it if you go in to change the "Tire Pressure" seetings and you see "Toggle" which is where you toggle the TPMS on or off.
YES! FINALLY! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!
YES! FINALLY! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!
(approaches the mic with tears in my eyes...)
I would like to thank SuperChips for finally coming out with this feature. I never thought this would happen but finally I have stopped seeing the light!
(Kanye West jumps on stage and snatches the mic)
TACKINDY I'LL LET YOU FINISH IN A MOMENT. I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT HYPERTECH IS THE BEST PROGRAMMER HANDS DOWN. I'M JUST SAYIN.

First, some of us have rims that just aren't TPMS compatible, I seriously doubt Hutchinson would want me to "band" the sensors to the rubber beadlock belt that gives these rims their function. As well as the fact that airing down isn't real TPMS friendly anyway.
Second, I have a Lexus with TPMS, and despite numerous trips to the dealer including even replacing the TPMS computer, they have never been able to get the TPMS system to work with the second set of sensors. Heck, it doesn't even work with the first set!
One of these days they will actually have this "system" worked out where it is an advantage to the driver. There certainly are instances where it has probably saved lives, especially among those folks that do no tire maintenance.
But for now, it's mostly an annoyance.
To jump on the TPMS rant bandwagon, and add my 2 cents.
This feature won't save an appreciable number of lives or prevent crashes related to pressure untill they install onboard, on the fly airing up and down of tires. As its been pointed out before, some people respond to dash lights when they will get around to it. Some people just don't feel thier car. I don't have tpms, but I can tell when a tire is low, just by taking a corner or 2 at a good clip. If it's low enough it sets off my esp while cornering. As someone who has owned a lot of tires that devoloped slow leaks, I have a hard time believing that lowering the tire pressure 5 psi or so at the factory caused a substantial number of blowouts.
My old bfg mt's had such stiff sidewalls, that the pressure had to get down to about 10 psi for me to notice a bulge when hopping in the jeep in the morning. I never blew out a tire. I never rolled my very roll worthy suv. Not once did I lose control of my vehicle.
The simple truth is all people can't do all things well. Some people make bad snap decisions in an emergency situation.
It would be better to include defensive driving as standard drivers ed.
I was a teenage boy with some serious beater cars growing up, so I'm sure I could test out of the additional requirements
.
As the proud owner of a 4cly. 4 door AMC station wagon, I have a pretty good idea of how well a top heavy vehicle with truck tires handles a hairpin turn in the rain at 40mph (no too well by the way).
Now I'll get back on topic & say get the superchip tuner. It rocks. I'm towing my camper to Florida next month, and I'll add my thoughts about the tow mode. I've been playing with all the data that can be displayed wile the vehicle is running. It really does alot. Did I mention it reads engine codes? And explains in words what the code means.? And lets you clear them to boot? Get one! It's less than a new bumper & you'll get more use out of it. Unless you are a really bad driver
